Winding, clearing and steaming are treated together because they constitute, after
spinning, the last three steps before using the yarn in weaving, traditional or knitted.
Regular and accurate execution of these three processes constitutes the prerequisite for correct
carrying out the subsequent weaving, dyeing and finishing production processes.
The winding operation consists in transferring the yarn from one
starter pack on tubes or tubes to another type
of package called rock, wrapping the yarn in crossed coils
on a rigid tube with a cylindrical, conical or superconical shape.
The shape of the packages depends almost exclusively on the machine
for which they are intended: warping machines, shuttlers, reelers, looms
with pincers or projectiles, for knitting, etc. Generally:
• bobbins are used for high-speed machines
cylindrical or conical to facilitate unwinding of the yarn,
without causing the thread to slide along the body of the
rock.
• for machines with slower speeds, such as machines
knitwear, superconical shaped cones are adopted, for
avoid the yarn slipping on the body of the package
unraveling.
For knitting yarns simultaneously with winding
a lubrication of the thread is carried out to facilitate its
flow in the needles of knitting machines. This
The process is called paraffinization.
The main purpose of winding is to pass the yarn from one type of package to another,
but it also has the function of eliminating defects that the yarn may present. It's about eliminating
sections of thread with defects such as weak or finer points, more or less large flames, flakes of fibers,
tangles of yarn, lengths of thread without twist, lengths of double threads, etc., with as many knot attachments
or with the Splite system. These “repairs” are accepted in subsequent transactions conditionally
which are not in considerable number and which do not jeopardize the regularity of the fabric.
This verification and selection operation is called clearing.
On each head of the winding machine there is a special electronic device called clearer,
programmable in its interventions according to the importance of the irregularities that may be
tolerate. The clearer has the purpose of removing the defective part of the thread and bringing the two ends of the yarn together
with a small knot. Another more advanced knotting system is used when even a
small knot could create problems on the fabric. This system is called Splite and consists
in overlapping the two ends of the thread in the section where the defect was removed. The two ends come lightly
loosened for about 1/2 centimeter and twisted slightly, creating a light flaming on the wire
or lump, rather than a knot.
At the end of the spinning the yarns come
packaged in more or less large melts
depending on the type of machine for
spin. Due to the twist given to
fibers the yarn tends, more or
less obvious, to get tangled if
left slow and without tension.
This tendency increases as you increase
of the twists present in the yarn e
therefore, to give stability to the body of
wire, the steaming operation is used.
The process stabilizes the twisted fibers through the combined action of moisture and heat, and occurs
placing the spindles or tubes coming from the spinning mills in normally metal baskets or boxes,
perforated on the sides which are laid down on a trolley for introduction into a special autoclave of which
the duration of the process and the temperature can be programmed. The thermal process occurs by steam
direct and is carried out after a vacuum has been created inside the autoclave by suction
of the air, in order to obtain a more effective and widespread treatment.
At the end of the operation the baskets are removed from the autoclave and the yarn is ready for the following operations
operations.
After the sale of the machinery, we also assist you in logistics and, if desired by the customer, we have technicians capable of reassembling and starting up the machinery.
