The fabric is located in a box placed on a revolving platform, called a carousel, (see figure A, point
5,) controlled by a dewinder, which has the purpose of removing the twists (twists) from the piece.
Then the piece must:
extend for about 10-12 meters and therefore pass about 6 meters from the ground by an overhead pulley
(fig. A, 1) complete with self-adjusting brake and dewinder;
pass between two beaters (fig. A, 2) rotating in the opposite direction to the advancement of the fabric e
placed transversely with respect to the patches.

The rotation of the beaters is synchronized so that they work in opposition to each other and is
opposite to the advancement of the fabric to keep it in constant tension with the machine.
Rubbing the tissue between two expanding cylinders (fig. A, 3) completes the distension.
An oscillating rocker guides the fabric into a central position with respect to the machine (fig. A, 4).
The cord opener almost always works in conjunction with the wide squeezer.
For knitted fabric (very elastic both in width and length), remember that:
it should not be subjected to strong tractions; then use the accompanying cylinders and devices
expanders;
the opening of the tubular is a delicate phase; for a perfect cut it must be performed on the
circular machine the needle waste (a stretch mark along the entire length of the piece, obtained
removing a needle from the circular machine). Otherwise it will be necessary to follow the progress precisely
of the thread.
The main parts of a cord opener (figure B) are:
a dewinding device (see figure B, point 1);
a fabric beater (fig. B, 2);
the cutter (fig. B, 3) for opening the tubular;
the reel (fig. B,4), which folds the pieces already open (wide).
